Paul Hawkes


Appointed by Governor Jeb Bush in 2003

Paul Hawkes was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush in 2003, he was elected as Chief Judge by his judicial colleagues where he led the effort to implement electronic filing, (the first court in Florida to use electronic filing) and participated in obtaining funding to build a new courthouse and obtained funding to implement a workers’ compensation unit to bring more stability and consistency to Florida’s business community. During his tenure, he led two successful efforts to obtain Davis Productivity Awards in recognition of policy and process changes that he implemented. Since his departure from the court, Paul has been a practicing attorney and lobbyist.
