Before joining Continental Strategy, Martinez helped found the public affairs practice at Targeted Victory, a digital-first marketing and advertising agency. Martinez played a key role in expanding the firm’s public affairs offering from a small team of just 3 employees to a robust practice of more than 30 professionals with an impressive client portfolio that includes numerous Fortune 50 companies and some of the world’s biggest brands. As Executive Vice President, Martinez advised CEOs and C-suites on strategic communications, public policy, and public affairs. His work focused on helping major corporations navigate complex public relations challenges and effectively engage with conservative American audiences.

Martinez was also instrumental in driving the firm’s growth and success during a critical time that saw Targeted Victory grow from an incubator company into a fully owned subsidiary of Stagwell Inc., a publicly traded global leader in marketing and communications.

Martinez’s extensive political experience includes more than a decade as a trusted advisor to United States Senator Marco Rubio. As Rubio’s Senate Chief of Staff, Martinez directed all aspects of the Senator’s legislative agenda, public policy initiatives, and communications strategy and was responsible for shaping policy strategies on critical national and Florida issues.

A veteran of three Presidential campaigns, and several statewide campaigns, Martinez served a senior strategist on Rubio’s historic 2010 Senate race.

As a respected political strategist and commentator, Martinez has appeared in major media outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Martinez also served as an on-set technical advisor to the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning HBO series Succession.

Martinez serves on the national board of directors for Maverick PAC and America2100 and is a former member of Senator Rubio’s Military Service Nominating Commission and the Selective Service Board. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife Sarah and children Alberto, Jr. and Eleanor Jane.
