She is a dynamic leader, with proven experience commanding a team, holding positions in the highest levels of the executive and legislative branches of government. She has worked intimately with the construct of the Florida State Budget and advised Governors on how to implement their policies in the dynamic working of the legislature and to also carry them out through the complicated LASPBS system.
Ashley is skilled in building relationships and advocating for clients’ needs. Her deep understanding of the Florida legislature and cabinet come from her hands-on experience interfacing with officials on behalf of her clients.
Throughout her career, Ashley has proven herself as a powerhouse for her wealth of knowledge on the topics that Floridians care about the most - education, healthcare and economic growth. Ashley is respected beyond the boundaries of Tallahassee and is a trusted senior advisor to many in national politics.
Prior to her current role at the firm, Ashley served as a consultant for the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida where she advised its 14-member hospital systems throughout Florida. She navigated the complex business and policy environment in which hospital systems operate to administer complex care to the most critical patients, including children.
In the Capitol, Ashley advised Governor Rick Scott as Chief of the Education Policy and Budget team, leading education policy matters, which account for more than $20 billion in state budget priorities. She also worked with the Florida Legislature to increase teacher pay, expand school choice, expand Florida’s Bright Futures scholarship program, limit tuition and fee increases at colleges and universities, provide tax cuts for college textbooks, and modernize the state budget process so that more funding follows students through Florida’s K-12 system.
Ashley also has experience staffing the Government Efficiency Task Force Subcommittee on Education, which focused on generating $3 billion in savings for taxpayers. To increase transparency, she led the successful audit of more than 1,600 Special Districts in Florida, including developing criteria for the examination of district functions, operations, governance, and financials.
Ashley also served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp where she worked to shape Florida policy, develop messaging, and oversee outreach. Ashley worked on Kottkamp’s initiative to provide housing solutions to families priced out of the market.
A proud Gator, Ashley spends time volunteering to support University of Florida alumni events, including serving on the Tallahassee Alumni Board for Florida Blue Key. Ashley is also an alumna of the American Council of Young Political Leaders and she volunteers at her church. In Tallahassee, she is raising a family with her husband, Will, their three sons and full-size-poodle Koko.
